Due to COVID-19, my carvings and paintings are no longer being publicly displayed. Until gallery exhibitions resume, carvings and paintings may be viewed at my studio. If you are interested in purchasing or commissioning a work of art, please contact me to schedule a private, in-studio viewing.
Suddenly I saw a dark form following my lure - a huge Pike! Adrenaline rushed through my body. I was shaking when the monster hit my lure. I set the hook, and the battle began!
I battled him to the bank, but he broke free. Through crystal clear water, I watched him swim away to the middle of the pool, where he sat, taunting me. Determined, I cast above him, and instantly he charged! I wallowed him back to the bank, and he twisted loose again! This time, he just turned his 30-inch body in the current and watched me, challenging me. I cast above him, and he grabbed my lure for the third time!
When I finally got him in, I held him up for my cohorts to admire. The experience of playing catch with a Northern Pike is an example why I create art.
By the way, I turned him loose, but you can see photos of the wood carving based on him by clicking here.
